Question of Faith

Religious Practice

Here are some religious practices that were practiced a lot in days gone by, still practiced today but unfortunately not by as many people.

Benediction
Benediction is is a short invocation for divine help, blessing and guidance, usually at the end of worship service.

After Benediction the host remained exposed so people could take part in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Many people practiced silen prayer during Adoration.

The Parish Mission was an important event for people to reflect on their faith and listen to the Word of God from a Mission team - visiting priests and faithful people. Their words made people reflect on what was important in their lives.

Fasting during Lent was another way to reflect on our lives.

Looking at Life

Humans have the capacity to look at life with a sense of awe and wonder - an overwhelming feeling of reverence, admiration.
Have you ever experienced awe and wonder? What fills you with admiration? Watch this video below to see some things that might fill you with awe and wonder.
